Birmingham: Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott made hundreds as England bounced back from last weekend's shock defeat to beat Bangladesh by 144 runs at Edgbaston here on Monday and so take the three-match one-day international series 2-1.

Dhaka: Bangladesh recalled former captain Mohammad Ashraful and all-rounder Naeem Islam on Friday after batsman Roqibul Hassan and wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim were ruled out of the ongoing one-day series against England. Roqibul, who top scored for his side with 76 in the first ODI, was injured after being struck by the ball on the left toe while Mushfiqur was hit in the face by left-arm spinner Faisal Hossain and had to be stretchered off the field.

Set a victory target of 160 after Bangladesh were dismissed for 382 in their second innings at the end of the morning session, England comfortably made it to 163-2, with captain Andrew Strauss hitting 82.

London: Bangladesh was dismissed for 382 in its second innings on day five of the first test at Lord's, setting England a victory target of 160 with two sessions to play on Monday. Steven Finn took 5-87 and Tim Bresnan 3-93, while Junaid Siddique, who batted for more than four hours, made a 74 that included seven fours.
